DIY Outdoor Lounger Dupe (Save $3,695!)

✨ Inspired by the $3,949 CB2 Taiko Lounger, I built mine for just $254! Here’s how you can do it too:

Materials

  • Red cedar (or pressure-treated wood)

  • Wood glue + screws

  • Brad nails

  • Hinges + dowel

  • Outdoor wood finish

  • Outdoor cushion

Steps

Cut Your Wood

  • 2 base pieces (cushion length)

  • 2 cross supports

  • 19 slats (23 ¾" each, cut in half)

  • Build the Base

    • Cut dado grooves for cross supports.

    • Add pocket-hole braces for stability.

  • Assemble the Top

    • Slot slats into supports.

    • Secure structural pieces with glue + screws.

  • Add Adjustment Arms

    • Drill pivot holes in support arms.

    • Attach with hinges + dowel for 3 reclining positions.

  • Finish & Style

    • Sand edges.

    • Apply waterproofing finish.

    • Add cushions, rug, and solar lights for a cozy backyard setup.
